Zhou Mi era un apprendista sotto la SM Entertainment prima di debuttare ufficialmente con i Super Junior M, ha partecipato e vinto a molte competizioni di canto.
Nel 2006, ha partecipato ad una competizione per presentatori tenuta dalla CCTV e ha conquistato il primo posto tra i 16 migliori partecipanti. Ma dato che Zhou Mi aveva già firmato un contratto con la SM Entertainment, dovette ritirarsi dalla competizione.

Oltre ad essere un bravo cantante, è anche molto abile nella composizione di canzoni. Ha infatti scritto il testo in cinese delle canzoni Me, Love Song, Marry U , A  Man in love, Confession , You&ME, Perfection e True Love.  Ha composto delle canzoni anche per Kangta e ha cantato diverse OST.
Nel 2013 ha scritto un libro di viaggio, intitolato Thai Perfect interamente scritto da lui e pubblicato a Taiwan.

Debutta come solista nel 2014 con il mini album REWIND e nel 2016 esce il suo secondo mini album What’s your number.
